Go Beyond The Gate

At HNH, we believe horses are the catalyst for cultural change, pointing us toward a more compassionate, resilient, and well lived stewardship of creation and community. Our horses are partners in our umbrella program “Beyond the Gate” where we are developing a multitude of resources to engage and embody renewal in a real, tangible way.

Horsemanship Programs

Our horsemanship program is made to engage and equip the next generation as future caretakers of creation. It’s an 8 lesson curriculum tackling equine sciences to emotional regulation to the basics of riding. There is also an optional in depth faith-based exploration for your child as well!

Resilience Rangers (13-17) and Stable Stewards (6-12)

Both age groups explore the full curriculum in our workbook with online resources. All classes at 1 on 1 and 1.5 hours long.

NEW - Saddle Sprouts (2-6)

Early exposure classes to prevent fear of horses. It follows the same 8 week curriculum, modified by developmental appropriateness, plus more crafts. All lessons are roughly 45 minutes. Will have 1 on 1 and ½ day group lessons available.

Events and Demonstrations

We try to keep our schedule full at the sanctuary in order to fully embrace a community of belonging in the barnyard. March - November you can usually find at least one workshop per month or a quarterly meet & greet event in the form of an open house or a teaching demonstration.

Barnyard Blossoms

Come spring of 2027, we are launching our Baryard Blossoms classes where children, along side their parents, can explore nature, farming, and animals in a safe environment with loads of crafts, tactile engagement through learning, and play-based-nature-focused curriculum.

These classes will be held once a week 1 on 1 or a half day in a group setting. The lessons will range from equine science to wildlife, farming to nutrition, butterfly hatching to chicken-egg hatching.

We are working out details and would love your feedback!
