we are moving
Utah here we come
After fighting so hard to get the ranch set up for the horses and goats, we have made the big decision to move back to Utah. Starting in September of last year, we tried to move closer to Austin in order to continue serving our local community and to make the commute into Austin for work easier (no donations go toward our mortgage). Sadly, however, this was not an option due to property taxes and the need for at least 5 acres in Texas to keep all of the sanctuary animals. After 8 months of trying to make Texas work at the current property and hunting for options to move closer to town, we have made the incredibly difficult, yet exciting move back to Utah.
The Pros: Kait’s family lives locally and the horses will not only be closer to a larger town, they will also have a huge break from the heat, humidity and pressure fluctuations of Texas. Utah is also providing easier access to the kind of people we want to serve and the weather our senior boy, Cowboy, and our chronically hard keeper, Norman, needs. Last time, Utah was a challenge because we didn’t have our own property to support these quirky horses. This time, we have our own property, a barn, pasture, and arena. So, all of our donation efforts will go toward feed, maintenance care and supporting our restore program.
The change: HNH for this next season will be focused on training, sanctuary and the restore programs. We are launching Restore at the Ranch as soon as possible in Utah, staring a resource for horse training, and hopefully we will start traveling to bring awareness to our mission and the animals we advocate for.

By supporting, you are allowing a stable life for these once abused and neglected horses. They are trying to adjust to and walk into new lives and we are here to help, but can’t if we are unable to put dinner on the table, so to speak. We need current support to keep Autumn, Norman, Lila, Cowboy and Honey fed and forward support so we can bring on horses quickly and without hesitation. Your help here touches every program at HNH—rescue, adoption, restore, sanctuary, and beyond.
