Sponsor Training (Once or Monthly)

from $50.00

We have three horses we are trying to get constantly in training. We have found an incredible, gentle trainer to help supplement our work while time is limited. Julian and Kait work over full time, take care of the sanctuary and a tiny human. Having a structured second professional trainer on our team quickens our ability to have people out to the sanctuary as well as spread our mission in the local community. Below you will find our goal lesson set up for the horses.

Autumn’s Goal: Building Confidence

As we get Autumn reacquainted under saddle and expanding her abilities through consistency, our main goal is to build her confidence. Our hope is for her to be ridden a few times a week, build up her tolerance to separation, haul to new places with new horses and get comfortable at home with the comings and goings of the horses at the ranch. She is a very high anxiety horse with a lot of potential to show that rescued doesn't mean broken, but she just needs to be shown change and freedom doesn't have to be stressful. To start we are hoping to get her restarted and ridden 3 times a week at home until she is consistent, then slowly expose her to new trails and arenas once a month up to every other week, then take her to her first event where she can hang out for a bit and get used to the busyness. She doesn’t need to be a show horse or venture out often, but she should become more comfortable in new situations and meeting people at new places. If she shows that she is just happy being ridden and playing at home, but safe and confident when traveling, we have met our minimum goal!

GOAL: $600 for April and May or 12 Trainings per month

Honey’s Goal: New Experiences

Honey is coming off of 6 months of professional training. We are also hoping to get her ridden 3 times a week for a couple of months by our trainer only as we get to know her new work ethic. From there we plan to bring her to new arenas, trails, events, etc. while exposing her to the same fun obstacles and training styles at home we will be doing for everyone else. Honey has an excellent start, but it is essential to continue this work with structure while it is all new. We have a fair amount of confidence that she will probably enjoy showing this summer in baby events as she learns more!

GOAL: $600 for April and May or 12 Trainings per month

Cowboy’s Goal: Old Man, Old Tricks

Cowboy we think is an old ranch horse. He is calm, mellow and level headed. We are hoping to get him fit under saddle and see what buttons he has to push. We feel really confident that he is going to like a new job and enjoy being able to walk kiddos around in hand and maybe even do a little fun show. With the help of our trainer and veterinary teams, we will be able to assess what he is comfortable with and enjoys. For now, we want to help keep him fit, mobile and feeling his best.
