Lila was picked up from a Louisianan kill pen, emaciated, lost her mate, and beaten. She was aggressive, scared and just trying to survive. We worked with another rescue at the time to get her settled into HNH. Lila was being attacked by all the other minis at the other rescue because she was just a bit bigger and didn’t have her own baby. When she got here, she decided she was the boss. It took months to get her walls down, but once we did, she became the sweetest and sassiest little lady. She is now a restore horse, teaching about basics, consent, emotional regulation and healing with horses.
